AWUC VISION CASTING AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE WESLEYAN CHURCH IN JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA
From January 9–13, 2025, Wesleyan leaders from around the world gathered at Birchwood Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa, for an International Wesleyan Conference. It was a powerful time of collaboration, strategy, and fellowship, the conference focused on evangelism, addressing global concerns, and strengthening unity across the worldwide Wesleyan Church family.
With nearly 400 Wesleyans in attendance, the event provided us the perfect platform to share our vision with leaders from across the globe. Our Principal, Dr. Henry Smith, passionately presented the university’s, vision, mission, and progress, giving updates on its application status, construction developments, and church partnerships. He also highlighted opportunities for partnering through Prayer, Service and financial giving.
Following the conference, a delegation of international leaders led by Rev. Dr. Wayne Schmidt, the general superintendent, travelled down to Zambia for a vision tour of our university and to witness firsthand the dedication of our first two classroom blocks.
The conference was more than just a gathering, it was a defining moment, uniting leaders in faith and purpose as they also embraced the shared vision of impacting lives through Christ-centered education.
