DEDICATION OF AWUC CAMPUS GROUNDS AND TWO CLASSROOM BLOCKS

On January 14, 2025, we celebrated a significant milestone with the dedication of our first two buildings and campus grounds in Zimba, Zambia. More than a ceremonial event, the day was a spiritual act of acknowledgment and surrender, reaffirming AWUC’s commitment to a faith-based education and service to God.

The dedication ceremony was led by Rev. Dr. Wayne Schmidt, the General Superintendent of the Wesleyan Church, alongside Bishop Juden Siachitema, the National Superintendent of the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church in Zambia. Their leadership set the tone for a moment of reflection, prayer, and thanksgiving.

The event brought together church leaders, government officials, international guests, and members of the local community, all united in their support for the University’s mission. In his address, the Minister of Education Hon. Douglas Syakalima, highlighted governments commitment to education and commended the Wesleyan Church’s role in establishing the university and its contribution to higher education and national development. He also expressed gratitude to the University’s’ donors, for their on- going support in establishing the University’s infrastructure in Zimba.

The dedication marks the beginning for AWUC, as a step forward in providing a Christ-centered education and transformative leadership development for Zambia, Africa, and the world.
